48% Drop in Bounce Rate – Marketing Experiments

by Mikey on May 1, 2012

I was sent to a site that does web clinics on web conversion optimization. I don’t mean a cheesy webinar where they try to sell you something. You don’t have to enter your email address either.

Marketing Sherpa and Mec Labs is the leading authority in web trend analytics. They’ve spent $15 million and 15 years on research. No guessing or theories, just numbers and facts.

There are 3 webinars on the page below, each is an hour long. I watch the first one and even though they are long, I went through the next two and then modified a client’s site based on those recommendations and stats. The bounce rate dropped by 48% within 24 hours…

Why am I telling you this? I don’t get anything if you watch them. I just want to tell you about it because the things I’ve learned are a big deal. I’ve been spending a lot of time working for Google spiders but it’s much easier to double your conversion than get double the organic traffic! This stuff is not just the obvious stuff, and some of it is the opposite to what you read touted on free forums.

Click the links at the bottom of the content section on that page. I would do it in reverse order, starting at the bottom.

About PR Plunder subdomains:

Subdomains need to be kept alive in order to work and pass link juice in the future. I would recommend backing up CPanel so if your hosting ever died then you can copy the cpanel backup over to another server and save your links. They have a built in function for this.

Thousands or even hundreds of subdomains could be an issue with the host. I’ve never had any problems but it would be very foolish and irresponsible of me to say otherwise. I’ve been using 3 domains for my subdomains and catchalls. I’ve probably built 1200 tumblr accounts….probably more I can’t remember. Don’t build PRP links to all of tier one, just the dofollow web 2.0s and your own websites.

Cheers!

Mike.
